From the studio: a creative reconstruction
A first-person creative reconstruction drawing on the biography and artworks.
Before sitting down with a face, I often imagine a rhythm moving through it. I want the line to stumble occasionally, like an uneven drumbeat. When I make the face too tidy, it feels as if I have erased the unease that held it here.
Working around The Beatles Floating Faces, my attention returns to this detail: Beatles heads float without complete bodies. Space between them lets hair and outlines identify the group’s parts. In the next passage, I imagine pulling back anything that weakens that encounter and leaving the areas holding its tension open for longer.
I imagine the image being carried along a street. Handles, folds and bodily movement bring new boundaries beside the drawing, and I leave room for the face to meet them.
How the drawing works on this product
The bag turns the image into something carried through everyday space. Handles and the flexible body give the design a different frame from a wall print. Compare the printed area and its position in the product photographs; the title alone does not establish fabric composition or carrying capacity.
