From the studio: a creative reconstruction
A first-person creative reconstruction drawing on the biography and artworks.
Before sitting down with a face, I often imagine a rhythm moving through it. I want the line to stumble occasionally, like an uneven drumbeat. When I make the face too tidy, it feels as if I have erased the unease that held it here.
Working around The Beatles Floating Faces, my attention returns to this detail: Beatles heads float without complete bodies. Space between them lets hair and outlines identify the group’s parts. In the next passage, I imagine pulling back anything that weakens that encounter and leaving the areas holding its tension open for longer.
I imagine the image travelling from one table to another. The face on a sleeve becomes part of an everyday object that opens and closes; I weigh its placement for those brief encounters.
How the drawing works on this product
A laptop sleeve puts the drawing on a portable protective format. Screen diagonal alone does not establish a computer’s external dimensions. Check the listing’s size chart against the width, height and thickness of the actual device, including any case fitted to it.
