İlker Ortaç / Work
Büyük E-Fanzin: cover 01
Dark hair, makeup and a direct gaze emphasize the large face on the cover.

From life to creative practice
Ortaç’s relationship with punk and underground culture also finds a place in independent publishing. His artist statement records that he founded DEV-FANZİN. The fanzine appears in his portfolio as a space where different texts and images meet and circulate.
From making to presentation
- Cover image: the archived cover is viewed as a surface shared by text and photography.
- Publishing context: Büyük E-Fanzin belongs to the independent publishing selection.
- Presentation: the button opens this cover image, not a full-issue file.
From the studio: a creative reconstruction
A first-person creative reconstruction drawing on the biography and artworks.
I imagine a table with pages placed side by side: a face, a headline, an overflowing sentence. The parts do not have to speak in the same tone. I want their proximity to disturb each other, leaving some friction unpolished.
Working around Büyük E-Fanzin: cover 01, my attention returns to this detail: Dark hair, makeup and a direct gaze emphasize the large face on the cover. In the next passage, I imagine pulling back anything that weakens that encounter and leaving the areas holding its tension open for longer.
In the final passage, I imagine returning the work to its own context. I leave room for reading a page, looking at a frame or watching the film beyond the narrative assembled here.
