Beşiktaş and Efes Pilsen terraces also appear in Ortaç’s biography. This personal proximity to sporting culture offers a way to read the portrait apart from a score or match record. The face is not presented as documentation of a specific game.

From the studio: a creative reconstruction
A first-person creative reconstruction drawing on the biography and artworks.
I imagine how the sound of a terrace might become a line across a face. Describing movement does not require filling an entire court or pitch; sometimes a jaw, a gaze or a compressed shoulder is enough. I let the line move around that tension.
Working around American Football Player, my attention returns to this detail: A helmet hides most of the football player’s face. White guard bars organize the image in place of an exposed expression. In the next passage, I imagine pulling back anything that weakens that encounter and leaving the areas holding its tension open for longer.
I imagine a mug turning in someone’s hand. One side of the image disappearing as another emerges adds a small sense of time to the portrait; I consider its placement through that turn.
How the drawing works on this product
The curved mug surface changes how the drawing is seen. A front view can show only part of the printed area, while the handle fixes the way the object is held. Use the Etsy photographs to compare the visible design on each side rather than assuming a full wraparound print.
