From the studio: a creative reconstruction
A first-person creative reconstruction drawing on the biography and artworks.
I begin by circling the small irregularity that stops me in an image. Rather than explaining the whole thing immediately, I try increasing the weight of that detail. Putting another line beside an overly tidy area feels like letting the image speak again.
Working around Punk Mohawk Woman, my attention returns to this detail: A mohawk and open mouth break the head’s silhouette. Red light and black areas hold the image between portrait and movement. In the next passage, I imagine pulling back anything that weakens that encounter and leaving the areas holding its tension open for longer.
I spread the image across a horizontal desk in my imagination. Between areas covered by a hand and everyday objects, I reconsider which part of the face will keep looking back.
How the drawing works on this product
A desk mat spreads the artwork over a horizontal working area. A keyboard or mouse can cover parts of the image during use, so facial placement matters differently here than on a wall. Review the full mockup and measure the available desk space before selecting this format.
