From the studio: a creative reconstruction
A first-person creative reconstruction drawing on the biography and artworks.
I imagine removing the invisible ruler that tells a body where it should begin and end. A shoulder, a beard and an item of clothing should not have to agree. I enlarge their encounter, then leave it somewhere the gaze cannot immediately escape.
Working around Penis, my attention returns to this detail: A red border and green field surround the anatomical drawing. Small repeated marks activate the surrounding surface. In the next passage, I imagine pulling back anything that weakens that encounter and leaving the areas holding its tension open for longer.
Then I imagine leaving the image alone on screen. I look for the detail that keeps its weight when reduced, thinking of its passage to another surface through that same attention.
How the drawing works on this product
A digital listing supplies a file rather than a framed object. The preview is not evidence of the downloadable file’s pixel dimensions or its largest suitable print size. Read the file details and usage terms, then compare the image ratio with the paper and frame you plan to use.
