From the studio: a creative reconstruction
A first-person creative reconstruction drawing on the biography and artworks.
I begin by circling the small irregularity that stops me in an image. Rather than explaining the whole thing immediately, I try increasing the weight of that detail. Putting another line beside an overly tidy area feels like letting the image speak again.
Working around Pablo Picasso Red Portrait, my attention returns to this detail: Heavy black contours rebuild Picasso’s face over red. Bending lines around the eyes and nose supply the structure. In the next passage, I imagine pulling back anything that weakens that encounter and leaving the areas holding its tension open for longer.
I imagine the distance from which the print will be seen on a wall. Watching lines scatter up close and reunite from farther away, I look for room for the image to breathe inside its frame.
How the drawing works on this product
A paper reproduction gives the image a fixed physical scale without being the original drawing. The paper size and the size of the printed image are not necessarily identical. Check the Etsy listing for margins, paper details and frame inclusion before arranging a place on the wall.
